Selection Process for Asst Commandant Coast Guard
There are two steps to the selecting process: stage I and stage II.
Stage 1: Application Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the preliminary exam or written test based on their bachelor’s degree grades. If more applicants with higher percentages apply, qualifying grades for some branches can exceed 60%.
Preliminary examination or written examination: Candidates will take a preliminary test in English to assess their mental ability/ cognitive aptitude, as well as a picture perception and discussion test (PP & DT). The preliminary test for Assistant Commandant of the Indian Coast Guard will be objective.
Final selection: Candidates will be called for final selection after passing the preliminary exam. This examination will comprise a psychological examination, a group task, and an interview (Personality test).
Candidates will be notified of the date and location of the final selection on the Indian Coast Guard’s official website.
The final selection board will suggest candidates for a medical examination, which will be conducted at the nearest Military Hospital in accordance with current norms governing Assistant Commandant recruiting.
